Water, lakeside paths and moorland: Lake Steinhude adds another landscape to the hiking regions around Hannover.
Walking by the water
Lake Steinhude offers a contrast to the wooded hills of the other hiking regions. Lakeside scenery, reeds, wet meadows and moorland shape the area. Steinhude and Mardorf provide different starting points for exploring the lake.
A walk that fits the day
The regional tourism service presents shorter walks as well as longer outings, including the route around the lake, paths through the Totes Moor and links between village and shore. A break outdoors does not have to mean walking the entire circuit.
Planning and orientation
Official descriptions help with choosing a route and comparing distances. Local signs and information complement the planning.
