This is where I was born. Heathland, woodland and open views connect my roots with my enjoyment of walking.

Roots and landscape

Lüneburg Heath has a special meaning for me: it is where I was born. It is one of my hiking regions and connects time outdoors with my roots.

Wilsede, Wilseder Berg and the heathland trails

The nature reserve offers several ways to discover this cultural landscape. The conservation organisation Verein Naturschutzpark lists the Wilseder Berg heathland loop and the Machandel discovery trail. The latter links Niederhaverbeck, Wilseder Berg, Wilsede and Döhle.

These routes offer different perspectives, whether on a shorter walk with individual stops or a longer hike. A destination does not have to be far away to leave room for the landscape and a few pauses.

Planning a visit

I choose a specific route to suit the day. The official descriptions provide a starting point for choosing a route and learning about the landscape.
