In 2024 and 2025 I walked part of the Munich–Venice Dream Trail with a group, from Benediktbeuern to Belluno.

Landscapes on the way south

The Alpine foothills give way to the limestone walls of the Karwendel, the mountain landscapes of the Tux and Zillertal Alps and, further south, the Dolomites. Forest, pastures, rocky crossings and valleys give the trail many different faces. Exact stages depend on the chosen route and conditions.

Walking as a group

Shared breaks, conversations and decisions are part of the experience. I value adapting the pace and daily objectives to the people and conditions.

Plan each stage

This is a personal reflection rather than a complete stage guide. Reassess huts, paths, weather and the group’s abilities for every stage.

Local warnings and on-site advice take precedence over general website information. Before setting out, ask local people, hut hosts or local experts about paths and weather: they know their home region and can explain current conditions. Their advice complements your own preparation and official warnings.
