The Deister lies southwest of Hannover. Forest paths, wooded heights and the edges of surrounding villages give it its character. A walk does not always need a major destination; sometimes it is enough to find your own pace among the trees.
Views and woodland paths
Annaturm and Nordmannsturm are familiar landmarks. The ridge path links sections of the hills, while the routes climbing towards it offer different experiences. Nienstedt is one of the places from which to explore the Deister.
Plan a day that suits you
Choose a route that matches your fitness, daylight and weather. Getting there and returning are part of the plan, as are breaks. On shared paths, consideration between walkers and cyclists makes the day more pleasant for everyone.
